HDU Multifunctional Gate

Spreader Gate Function on the Baseline HDU Trailer
Some features don’t always get the spotlight, but they make a big difference in the field. One of those is the spreader gate on the Baseline HDU. Designed for durability and ease of use, this gate gives operators more control, precision, and efficiency when handling bulk materials like gravel, rock, or soil.
What is a Spreader Gate?
A spreader gate is a specialized tailgate design that allows controlled spreading of material while dumping. Instead of unloading everything in one large pile, the HDU’s spreader gate lets you release material gradually and evenly. This makes it an invaluable tool for tasks like road base, driveway resurfacing, landscaping, or filling low spots.
How the HDU Spreader Gate Works
The HDU’s spreader gate is simple and effective:

A rear latch allows the dump gate to open.
Safety chains attach to grooves on either side of the dump gate.
By adjusting the chain placement, you can control the distance the gate opens, which controls how much material is poured at once.

This system lets you spread gravel, rock, or dirt more evenly across a surface without needing extra equipment or repeated passes.
Benefits of the Spreader Gate
Controlled Flow – Decide how much material you want to release, whether it’s a light layer or a heavier spread.
Time Savings – Reduce the need for shoveling or re-distributing piles by hand.
Versatility – Perfect for gravel driveways, landscaping projects, or light roadwork.
Operator-Friendly – Simple latch-and-chain design makes it easy for anyone to use.
Built for Hard Work – Designed to match the heavy-duty standards of the HDU.
A Feature That Works as Hard as You Do
The Baseline HDU isn’t just about hauling—it’s about making your work easier and more efficient. The multifunctional gate proof of that. Whether you’re spreading gravel for a new driveway or laying down rock for a jobsite, this gives you the control and confidence to get the job done right the first time.
